The Musical Blood Brothers
The Drexel Players, in the Department of Performing Arts of the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, will present the musical Blood Brothers from Thursday, November 20, through Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Mandell Theater (33rd and Chestnut Streets). Written by Willy Russell, Blood Brothers is a nature vs. nurture play revolving around twins separated at birth, growing up at complete opposite ends of the social spectrum. Falling in love with the same woman, the twins must defend their love to the death, to the beat of Russell’s mesmerizing original score. Years have passed since its success on Broadway, but the play has continued to run non-stop in London as a cult classic.
Performance times are: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets go on sale at the Mandell Theater box office on November 17. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students, faculty and staff with a valid I.D. Group ticket rates are also available for groups of 10 or more.
